2014 was a busy year for cyclocross in the Pacific Northwest. Races were coming fast and furious with events happening almost every weekend, often on both days. I made it to 15 races and to each one, I brought my camera. I walked the course before and after my race to take photos and then, if I was lucky, hand off the camera to my wife who juggled watching the kids and our dog, and taking photos of my race.
Afterwards, I rest my legs and have a beer while I sort through the photos. Some were good. Many were bad. It is still a learning process for me trying to discover what makes a good cyclocross photo. I figure out what I like and try again the next weekend. Thankfully, there are plenty of accomplished photographers at the races to learn from, and the nice thing with cross is that there are so many opportunities to practice.
Here are some of my favourite pictures from this year.
