The World Cup Starts This Week!

This week marks the kick off to the 2016-2017 Telenet UCI Cyclocross World Cup. 9 races round out the series this year and with the new addition of Jingle Cross to the calendar, there are now two races in North America. Up until last year the races all took place exclusively in Europe, so it’s nice to see the pros from across the pond having to endure the stresses of travel usually reserved for their North American counterparts. The first race will be Cross Vegas on Sept 21, followed by the Jingle Cross on Sat, Sept 24.

All world cup races will be broadcast via the UCI youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ucichannel And the best part? No getting up at some ungodly hour to watch the first two races in the series. Since they are in the US, the broadcast time will be respectable. For all the others though, be prepared for early mornings. The women’s race at Vegas starts at 8: 15 pm local time, with the men’s race right after. Jingle Cross racing starts at 3:30pm local time (1:30 pm PST). If you miss it, the UCI channel usually has a rebroadcast available on demand.

There will be a number of Canadians this year to cheer on at Vegas:
